Our class of 8 were provided with lots of great fabrics, frames and fringe to choose from and plenty of fun putting together these beautiful designs. We sewed, chatted, laughed and listened to 50’s music as we created our masterpieces. Here are a few of the “almost” final products.

It was such a huge hit, we are preparing to offer a couple of other Custom Designed workshops.

1. CUSTOM THROWS to finish your bed with pizazz, or throw over your sofa or favorite chair. Once again it will be hosted by Deborah Westfall and include a group trip to the fabric store to choose fabrics and fringes, and maybe even a margarita. 2. CUSTOM LAMP SHADES – A second chance to make your own “custom lamp shade”. Dive into our creativity and join the girls for 3 nights of great fun and food. Come away with a “one of a kind” design that you can brag about to your friends. It truly is a blast and you will have created a beautiful piece for your home for years to come.

If you want to be your own designer, or just want a couple of nights out with the girls, choose one or both of these fantastic workshops for your next outing. You will be so proud of yourself and have fun in the process.

It was gorgeous outside and wonderful to keep our doors wide open and feel the cool breezes of fall filter through the store.  It just lended a crisp atmosphere to the day that kept the excitement high throughout the day. 

I just have to say, everytime we have an event and I see so many of our consignors and customers in the store at the same time, it just makes me happy to know that we have created a gathering place where people can bring a friend or a family member to browse and get ideas,  just drop by to say hello or find that special something that really makes them smile.   That is what this business is all about – People.   So thank you again for all the people that make Fun Finds and Designs a great place to be everyday.    Terry, Betty, Nancy, Donna, Leslie, and Tony say THANK YOU ALL!

Lot’s of fun, socializing and of course shopping were the focus of the day.  Take a look at some of the happy faces.

Betty Anderson & Nancy Hodge were the hosts for the day, excited to board the bus and get “on the road”.

Friends & family, Mothers and Daughters, avid consignment shoppers and first timers all had a ball. Women from Canton, Woodstock, Roswell, Alpharetta, Marietta, Dawsonville and even Dahlonega enjoyed the event.  Everyone experienced the beauty and wisdom of consignment shopping as they sipped their champagne and browsed through some of the finest  furniture consignment stores in Atlanta.  All loved being chauffered, experiencing stores they had never visited before, and the warm welcome they received at each stop.  One statement that was echoed several times was  ” This was a great event and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  Can’t wait for the next one”.

Thanks to all that participated. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with both loyal and new customers, and watching as they discovered their consignment treasures at each stop.  It was such fun to see the delight on their faces when they found that great deal or the item they just couldn’t live without.   It was indeed a terrific day and I will definitely look forward to the next one in the Spring.  Hope I will see YOU there.

The beauty of this transformation is that she was able to complete this room for LESS than what she would have spent on ONE SOFA from a furniture store.  Consignment items in this picture included:  Pottery Barn style sofa, soft green with contrasting piping;  Hand hooked wool decorative rug;  (2) Black lacquered side chairs with upholstered seats;  round occasional table with reclaimed wood top and wrought iron base used for a coffee table;  accent pillows.  Nancy already had the floor lamps that we incorporated into the space along with a few plants to soften. 

It was fun, fast and saved Nancy hundreds of dollars. ONE STOP SHOPPING.   Now that is a BEAUTIFUL THING!

We had a little different format this time in that we did not have a Professional Designer do our presentation.  We chose two amateur gardners, who love to play in the dirt and create beautiful patios, decks and gardens, do the honors.  Terry Anderson and Cristina Stafford, next door neighbors with self taught skills and creative eyes, shared some of their beautiful techniques and secrets.  Here are a few of the COOL IDEAS that were presented.  ENJOY!

    Accessories are always the fun part.  Colorful oil lamps for lighting, candles and more candles, single stem flowers for interest and simple watering cans brough alive by florals and greenery. 

Patios and Decks can be fun and certainly a welcoming outdoor room to your home.  In fact the same fundamentals of design apply to outside as well as in.
