We pulled it off.  The Tornado Victim Furniture Donation Drive brought out the best in the people of Cherokee County.

My vision to provide much needed home furnishings for the tornado victims of Georgia came to fruition the past two weekends.

With the help of Unity in Disaster, PODS and Fun Finds & Designs, and the Great People of Cherokee County, we were able to fill the equivolent of 4 large PODS with great furniture that will help dozens of families that lost their homes get back on their feet.

    This is just one example of the generosity of our people.  This gentleman brought a truckload of tables, chairs, chests, and accessories, all in great condition, enough to fill a couple of rooms in someones home.  We are very grateful for his generosity and the many others who brought in fantastic items.

Our customers and consignors really stepped up and contributed as well as some local churches, banks, neighbors and friends.  It is a testimony as to what a community can do when they are willing to reach out to those less fortunate and in need.

My motto is:  You never know when it will be YOU that is in need.

My SPECIAL THANKS & GRATITUDE to Holli Spell, Joe Gilliam & PODS who this never would have happened without them. 

If it hadn’t been for the persistence of Holli Spell, a customer, consignor  & friend, who stepped up and volunteered to steer this effort could we have pulled it off.

Joe Gilliam, the head of Unity in Disaster, who made it possible to find and coordinate the counties that were able to receive our donations, we are also very grateful.  His understanding of disaster relief brought clarity and direction to our effort.

Pods, who contributed a 16 x 10 unit, which we filled 4 times, we are grateful, as they donated their unit as well as the transportation of the unit to the specified location.

Last but not least, to Terry Anderson, who devoted his time and energy to making sure everything was handled in an organized fashion and offering FREE pick up on two days for those items just too big to bring to the store.

All in all, I am so happy and satisfied that Fun Finds & Designs, was able to give back to our community and in some small way make life just a bit easier for those devastated families.  THANK YOU,  THANK YOU,  THANK YOU!

We have been collecting home decor for the ravished victims of April’s

tornados.  Our goal is to fill at least 3 PODS containers to be transported to

 the counties in the most need.  We are close to our goal.  Please help by

 contributing any furniture or accessory item that you no longer need or

Fun Finds & Designs is getting ready to take on a SPECIAL DONATION FURNITURE DRIVE for the victims of the Georgia hurricane.  This endeavor has been in the works for several weeks, waiting for the devastated areas to be ready for furniture and home furnishings.  They have just been trying to get a roof over their heads.  Please stay tuned for details and donation dates.  Anyone who is interested in assisting us in this project, please contact Betty @ 770-704-0448
