Christmas Is My Favorite Time of Year!!!!!!!!!!!
Our store really comes to life at Christmas time. I love transforming it into a Christmas Wonderland. It is different every year and we get so excited about all the great consignments that come in to decorate with. We have the best Consignors and Customers ever!!!!!!
Transforming our homes at Christmas time can be equally exciting without having to break your back or your bank account. Often times we seem to think that we have to go all out and do the “over-the-top” tree or decorate every little nook and cranny to the hilt. We exhaust ourselves without stopping to think that sometimes simple is better and more time with our families is what’s really important. I had a really hard time realizing this one myself as I love to make things look pretty and inviting. The more I thought about it when I began to decorate the store this year, I decided less is more. For example, I put up Christmas trees with lights and didn’t decorate each one. I focused on the tables, bookcases, throws and pillows in areas that needed a punch of color and excitement as opposed to every little space. You can apply this to your home as well. Think about how you will use your space this season and go from there. When placing your Christmas items place in groups of odd numbers (3, 5, 7 etc.). This will give you more impact in the areas where you have items displayed as opposed to having single items sitting in multiple places. Place your pieces with purpose, almost as if you are telling a story for that area. You will find that this draws more attention and has more of a heartfelt impact. Need more color in an area and you are not sure what to do? Colorful Christmas ornaments in glasses on a table, on a glass cake plate, or sprinkled along a table with garland will make it so festive without having to do something elaborate that costs more money. Look around your house and see what you may have that you can use and incorporate that into your Christmas decorating and then infuse new items here and there as needed to freshen up the design.
These are just a few things that I thought would be helpful and you might enjoy.
We wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
